New box office for Oldham Coliseum
Date: 30 January 2012

Oldham Coliseum Theatre officially opening their temporary box office site in Oldham town centre this Wednesday 1 February where customers can book tickets while the theatre’s usual building closes for essential refurbishment until October 2012.

The Coliseum will be going Out and About during 2012 staging productions at various venues including The Grange Arts Centre, Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield and an outdoor summer production in Alexandra Park. The opening of Unit 12 (formally the Tourist Information Centre) sees the start of this momentous chapter in the Coliseum’s history.

Artistic Director Kevin Shaw comments: "We’re on the move because our usual home is in need of some essential repair; we will be reseating the auditorium providing a better view of the stage and a more comfortable experience for our customers.

“None of this work could have been done if the Coliseum continued to produce theatre while the building was being refurbished. We’ve found new venues to perform in across Oldham and further afield in Huddersfield.

The new box office is located at: Unit 12, Albion Street, Oldham and the opening times: Monday – Saturday 9.30am to 5.00pm.
