ForeverTwentySeven Set For Return to Lowry

After a sell-out run in January, ForeverTwentySeven returns to The Lowry to take audiences on a sensory journey of exploration.

Performed in the dark underbelly of The Lowry, and set backstage on the opening night of a play that hasn’t been staged for fifty years, ForeverTwentySeven is a dark promenade production where nothing is quite as it seems.

Fifty years ago the show was closed due to suspicious death of its leading actress Mia Blackford. The show takes the audience on an unconventional tour of the backstage areas of The Lowry as the cast and crew prepare for the show’s reprisal.

ForeverTwentySeven asks you to keep your wits about you as you enter a world where perceptions may not be truth. What you think, feel and do are all determined by what you see, hear and smell. You are a voyeur in a moment of distraction.

 “We’re thrilled that The Lowry has asked us back to reprise ForeverTwentySeven” Insignia Media’s Mike Lee. “The public and critical response was incredible, and we’re excited about the development of the project, supported by Arts Council England” Mike continued.

Insignia is a relatively new theatre company building a reputation for intriguing and innovative theatre. “We want to create interesting theatre in an ever commercialised world. We want audiences to leave feeling exhilarated and excited, not hiding in the shadows of the stalls or the circle” Mike concluded. Insignia are working with The Lowry on future projects.

Many questions need to be answered: Who’s been playing who? What’s happening with the lead actress? And perhaps most importantly: Will she be Forever Twenty Seven?

ForeverTwentySeven runs at the Lowry from 27 - 29 June.
