Dirty Dancing Set to Mambo into Liverpool, 9 October
Date: 23 May 2012

Dirty Dancing - the hit West End muscial based on the iconic film is currently on tour next year and as previously. Sales are already exceeding £10m for the first seven cities currently on sale, and many performances already sold out. The show heads to Liverpool later this next year.

Lasting five years at the Aldwych Theatre, the show opened in the West End in 2006, breaking all box office records with advanced ticket sales of over £15 million, which made it the fastest selling show in West End history. It has since played to over 1 million people, and closed in London on 9 July.

Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, written by Eleanor Bergstein, script writer and creator of the phenomenally successful film, features all the much-loved characters and original dialogue from the iconic film with  extra scenes.

The well known dance sequences remain with brand new choreography, set to all the hits from the best selling soundtrack, such as "Do You Love Me?", "Hungry Eyes" and the Academy Award Winning "(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life", plus many more songs that were not on the original recording.

Dirty Dancing is at the Liverpool Empire from  9th October – Saturday 27th October 2012.
