"Tickets for Troops" offer from ENB & Mayflower

Date: 15 September 2010

English National Ballet and The Mayflower Theatre Southampton are joining forces with the charity Tickets For Troops to offer members of the Armed Forces free tickets for the performances of Romeo & Juliet at The Mayflower in October.

Ten tickets have been made available for each performance of the classic Shakespeare story. This production was originally choreographed especially for English National Ballet in 1977 by the legendry Rudolf Nureyev in celebration of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.

English National Ballet has shown their support for our troops by donating tickets to the charity which was set up last year to provide free tickets for serving members of the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Forces and their families to top cultural, music and sporting events all over the country.

Raleigh Addington, Operations Director of Tickets For Troops said: "Tickets For Troops is delighted to receive this support from English National Ballet. It is a huge boost to the morale of the troops to have their commitment and dedication recognised by organisations across the country."

Since launching “Tickets for Troops” has provided nearly 250,000 tickets and over 60,000 troops have registered on the website - www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk

Patron Joanna Lumley said: “This is a win-win arrangement: brave and deserving troops get to see shows, concerts, fights and games virtually free: and we in the world of entertainment and sport get a chance to show them that we think they are the best of the best and support them with all our hearts. Fabulous.”

Troops are encouraged to go online and register at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk to take advantage of the fantastic tickets available for our Armed Forces.

Tickets for English National Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet (20 – 23 October 2010) are on sale from The Mayflower Box Office tel: 02380 711811, online at mayflower.org.uk or in person from the Mayflower ticket south shop in The Marlands, Southampton.
