Melanie C ready to return to Blood Brothers in LiverpoolDate: 7 October 2010 Following rave reviews and an Olivier Award nomination for her stint in the West End, Melanie C will return to the role of Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers at the Liverpool Empire in November.
The former Spice Girl said: "I had such an incredible time playing the role of Mrs Johnstone in the West End. I am so excited to have the opportunity to play her again in my home town at the Empire."
Willy Russell's musical, which premiered in 1983 and has been at the West End's Phoenix theatre since 1991, tells the story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be re-united by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret. The score includes “A Bright New Day”, “Marilyn Monroe” and the emotionally charged finale song “Tell Me It’s Not True”.
Blood Brothers runs at the Liverpool Empire from 8 to 20 November as part of a new national tour, which opened in Buxton on 7 June 2010. - by Glenn Meads Related ContentBack to Northwest Homepage
