Dingle Community Theatre Summer Festival

Date: 3 July 2009

The Dingle Community Theatre’s annual summer festival will this year focus on local responses to Liverpool City Council’s ‘Year of the Environment’.

Titled Dramatic Connections in the Dingle, the event is currently underway and includes:

- Three new dramas by local authors on a ‘Slice of Life’ theme
- A junior school drama from St Finbar’s Catholic School about a disappearing friend, entitled To bee or not to bee
- A Perform L8 youth drama group play, written by Alan Bower, called Friendship Close looking at neighbours and neighbourliness
- A Dingle Community Theatre adult group devised drama called Liverpool Dreaming

Performances are being shown at the following places and dates:

  • Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool, ‘Slice of Life’ dramas - Monday 6 July
  • Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool, ‘Slice of Life’ dramas - Tuesday 7 July
  • Mt. Carmel Catholic Social Club, High Park Street, Liverpool Dreaming and a ‘Slice of Life’ drama - Wednesday 8 July
  • The Caribbean Centre, 1 Amberley Street, Liverpool Dreaming and a ‘Slice of Life’ drama - Thursday 9 July
  • Joe H. Makin Theatre, Pilgrim Street, Liverpool, Liverpool Dreaming and a ‘Slice of Life’ drama - Monday 13 July
  • Joe H. Makin Theatre, Pilgrim Street, Liverpool, Friendship Close and To Bee or not to Bee - Tuesday 14 July
  • Joe H. Makin Theatre, Pilgrim Street, Liverpool, Friendship Close and To Bee or not to Bee - Wednesday 15 July

Tickets are priced £2-£4, with performances by Perform L8 youth drama group and St Finbar’s Catholic School starting at 7pm and 7.30pm for the others. Call 0771 684 8894 for further details.
