Whatsonstage.com Award-winning Ladykillers confirms West End return

Date: 11 March 2013

Whatsonstage.com Award-winning comedy The Ladykillers has confirmed it will return to the West End in the summer, opening at the Vaudeville Theatre on 29 June 2013 following the current UK tour.

The show, which enjoyed an acclaimed debut West End season at the Gielgud Theatre in 2011/12, is adapted by Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The IT Crowd) from the classic Ealing comedy.

It recently received the 2013 Whatsonstage.com Award for Best New Comedy and was nominated for five Laurence Olivier Awards in 2012.

Based on the 1955 BAFTA-winning comedy which starred Alec Guinness, The Ladykillers life of an eccentric little old lady turned upside down by an unlikely group of criminals. Planning the heist of a security van, they decide to use her as cover and involve her unwittingly in the plot. Things do not go well and start to unravel in spectacular and hilarious fashion.

The Ladykillers is directed by Sean Foley, with set and costume design by Michael Taylor. Casting for the Vaudeville run is still to be announced.
