Podcast: #WOSOuting to A Chorus LineDate: 26 February 2013 Last night we took over 300 theatregoers to see the hit revival of A Chorus Line at the London Palladium.
The show - which takes a behind-the-scenes look at 17 hopefuls auditioning for just eight places in a new Broadway musical - has a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Date, with music by the late Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Its famous score includes numbers such as "I Hope I Get It", "Sing!" and, most memorably, "One (Singular Sensation)".
The revival is directed by Bob Avian, who also helmed the 2006 Tony-nominated Broadway production. Avian was original director Michael Bennett's long-term collaborator and his co-choreographer on the original production.
The cast includes John Partridge as Zach, Scarlett Strallen as Cassie, Leigh Zimmerman as Sheila and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Diana. Following the show we were joined by Partridge and Strallen, plus other members of the cast, as well as producer Mark Goucher for a Q&A.
