Imogen Stubbs stars in Third Finger, Left Hand at Trafalgar 2

Date: 25 February 2013

Imogen Stubbs will star opposite Amanda Daniels in Dermot Canavan's Third Finger, Left Hand, which runs at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 3 to 27 April 2013.

The production is directed by former Open Air Theatre artistic director Ian Talbot, whose recent credits include Lend Me A Tenor at the Gielgud Theatre and Love Letters with Stefanie Powers and David Soul.

Based on Canavan's experiences of growing up in Preston with two sisters, Third Finger, Left Hand centres on Niamh and Grace, two estranged sisters who reunite to reminisce following their mother's death.

According to press material, "With a backdrop of the 1970s, Third Finger, Left Hand is scored by the sound of Northern Soul, instant callbacks to the Twisted Wheel in Manchester, donkey jackets, Top of the Pops and Edward Heath."

Stubbs returns to Trafalgar 2 following her appearance in the Donmar Trafalgar production of Salt, Root and Roe in 2011. Her other recent theatre includes Orpheus Descending at the Royal Exchange, A Marvellous Year for Plums at Chichester Festival Theatre, Little Eyolf at Jermyn Street and Private Lives at the Royal Exchange.

Third Finger, Left Hand is presented by Moya productions, whose credits include Shivered by Philip Ridley at Southwark Playhouse.
