Opening: Donmar Trafalgar's Silence of the Sea, Stenham's No Quarter & Rock of Ages rocks on

Among this week's major London theatre openings, in the West End and further afield, are The Silence of the Sea at Trafalgar Studios, American Justice at the Arts Theatre, No Quarter at the Royal Court, the transfer of Rock of Ages, and more:

Opening Monday

The Silence of the Sea
14 January 2013

Vercors' drama examining a dilemma faced by both the occupier and the occupied comes to the Trafalgar Studios in a version by Anthony Weigh. Part of the Donmar Trafalgar season, it runs until 2 February. 

Opening Tuesday

American Justice
15 January 2013
(Previews from 10 January)

Richard Vergette’s play about guilt and redemption in America’s prison system is set during the 8 years of an Obama administration. It runs at the Arts Theatre until 9 February.

Opening Wednesday

No Quarter
16 January 2013
(Previews from 11 January)

Polly Stenham returns to the Royal Court with an anarchic twist on the drawing room drama. It runs until 9 February.

Opening Thursday

One Monkey Don't Stop No Show
17 January 2013
(Previews from 16 January)

A play by Don Evans, billed as 'The Cosby Show meets Restoration Comedy' about how hard we try to hide who we really are. It runs at the Tricycle Theatre until 9 February.

Opening Friday

Rock of Ages
18 January 2013

The show packed full of 80's hit songs is transferring to the Garrick Theatre with cast including Simon Lipkin and Tim Howar. It's currently booking until November 2013.
