Leslie Jordan's Fruit Fly lands at Leicester Square Theatre

Date: 10 January 2013

American comic Leslie Jordan will return to the London stage later this year with his new show Fruit Fly.

Jordan, whose one-man show My Trip Down the Pink Carpet ran at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue in 2011, will be at the Leicester Square Theatre from 12-16 March 2013.

Fruit Fly will subsequently visit the Lowry, Salford on 18 March.

According to press material, "This time the pint-sized pixie asks the question: 'Do gay men really become their Mothers?'."

The show, which has run in New York and Los Angeles, outlines the early years of Jordan's life, growing up with his mother, father, twin sisters and grandma in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It promises "jaw-dropping anecdotes, outrageous revelations and revealing family photos".

Jordan won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series as Beverley Leslie, the nemesis of Will & Grace's Karen Walker (played by Megan Mullally). He has also made appearances on a string of American comedy TV shows including Ally McBeal, Boston Legal and Monk as well as Sordid Lives alongside Rue McClanahan and Olivia Newton-John.
