Fresh from winning a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, Mark Thomas’ show about the difficult relationship between him and his dad runs at the Tricycle Theatre until 22 September before touring the UK. Choir Boy Tarell Alvin McCraney’s new play set in an all boys, all black, American prep school scores a gospel refrain of the politics of minority and masculinity. Directed by Royal Court artistic director Dominic Cooke, it runs until 6 October. Opening TuesdayKing Lear Running as part of the World Shakespeare Festival, Michael Attenborough’s production stars Jonathan Pryce as the eponymous King. The play runs at the Almeida Theatre until 3 November. Opening WednesdayHedda Gabler Ibsen’s classic, directed by Anna Mackmin stars Sheridan Smith in the title role, using a new version of the text by Brian Friel. The production runs at the Old Vic until 10 November.

The Judas Kiss A portrayal of the fall from grace of Oscar Wilde, David Hare's new play The Judas Kiss stars Rupert Everett and Freddie Fox and runs at Hampstead Theatre until 13 October.
Baggage A new play exploring the world of internet dating which stars Suzanne Shaw and Richard Mylan. It runs at the Arts Theatre until 6 October. Opening ThursdayThree Sisters Chekhov’s classic, centring on four siblings left stranded in a provincial backwater following the death of their father, runs at the Young Vic until 13 October. The Magic Flute One of Mozart’s best-loved operas, The Magic Flute runs at the London Coliseum until 18 October. Opening FridayLove and Information Starring Linda Bassett, Caryl Churchill’s new play is billed as a ‘fast moving kaleidoscope’ and plays at the Royal Court Theatre Downstairs until 13 October. The Busy Body The first professional revival of Susanna Centlivre's eighteenth century comedy directed by Jessica Swale runs at the Southwark Playhouse until 6 October.
