Birmingham goes blonde again with Gareth Gates & Jennifer Ellison

Date: 3 August 2012

Legally Blonde The Musical returns to Birmingham for the second time in less than a year for one week only at the end of August.

Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winning Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray), the show will star Gareth Gates as Warner and Jennifer Ellison as Paulette, the Whatsonstage.com Award winning musical plays at the New Alexandra Theatre from August 28 – September 1.

Faye Brooks returns as leading lady Elle Woods along with Iwan Lewis as Emmett.

Gareth Gates shot to fame in 2001 where he was the runner-up in TV show Pop Idol, after which he released 3 solo albums and selling over 3.5 million records. More recently Gareth has starred as Joseph (West End), Les Miserables (West End & 25th anniversary tour) and Loserville (West Yorkshire Playhouse).

Jennifer Ellison is best known for her roles in Brookside and as Meg Giry in the film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. Jennifer’s theatre credits include Roxie Hart in Chicago (West End & UK tour), Boeing Boeing (Comedy Theatre) and Calendar Girls. She also served as a judge on Dirty Dancing - Time of Your Life.

Howard Panter, joint Chief Executive of Ambassador Theatre Group said: ‘Legally Blonde The Musical  is a roaring success, people across the UK from Bristol to York and as far as Glasgow have taken Legally Blonde into their hearts and are having an Elle of a party at the theatre.”

Catch the show from August 28 through September 1 at Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre.
