Cast: Harry Melling in Camera at Southwark, new GuvnorsDate: 27 July 2012 Harry Melling - best known for playing Dudley Dursley in five of the Harry Potter films - will play novelist Christopher Isherwood in a revival of I am a Camera, which runs for a three-week season at The Vault at Southwark Playhouse from 6 September 2012 (previews from 5 September). Melling was last seen on stage in When Did You Last See My Mother? at Trafalgar Studios, while other credits include The School for Scandal at the Barbican and Mother Courage and Women Beware Women both at the National Theatre. The rest of the cast are confirmed as Rebecca Humphries (Sally Bowles), Freddie Capper (Fritz Wendel), [Rosemary Smith] (Fraulein Schneider), Sherry Baines (Mrs Watson-Courtneidge) and Oliver Rix (Clive Mortimer). Based on Isherwood's memoirs Goodbye to Berlin, and the inspiration for the musical Cabaret, I am a Camera, by John Van Druten, is part glamorous whirlwind of Berlin Bohemia, part harrowing depiction of the Nazi's rise to power. Directed by Anthony Lau, with set design by James Turner and costumes by Sarah Booth, I am a Camera runs at the Southwark Playhouse until 22 September 2012. Comedians Phil Cornwell and Rhona Croker will join the West End cast of the National Theatre’s award-winning comedy One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 3 September 2012. Cornwell will play Charlie and Croker, Pauline, taking over from Gerard Horan and Hannah Spearritt respectively. They join Owain Arthur who plays lovable chancer Francis Henshall (the role created by Whatsonstage.com and Tony Award-winner James Corden), Jodie Prenger who plays Dolly, Martin Barrass as Alfie, David Benson as Gareth, Nigel Betts as Harry, Derek Elroy as Lloyd, Daniel Ings as Alan, Ben Mansfield as Stanley Stubbers and Gemma Whelan as Rachel Crabbe. Gavin Spokes will join ensemble members Robin Berry, Gillian Budd, Andrew Dennis, Laura Matthews and Richard Shanks. Nicholas Hytner's production of Richard Bean’s play, which is based on Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant of Two Masters, is currently booking until 12 January 2013.
