Salford set for Mousetrap 60th anniversary tour, 17 March

Date: 10 May 2013

The Mousetrap's 60th Anniversary tour, arrives in Salford next year.

The cast will feature: Steven France (Eastenders, The Bill) as Christopher Wren, Thomas Howes (Downton Abbey, The History Boys Tour) as Sgt Trotter, Karl Howman (Brush Strokes) as Mr Paravicini, Bruno Langley (Coronation Street, Doctor Who) as Giles Ralston, Graham Seed (Yes, Prime Minister UK Tour, The Archers) as Major Metcalf and Jemma Walker (Family Affairs, Eastenders) as Mollie Ralston.

Jan Waters, who has played Mrs Boyle in the West End is now on the tour, and Clare Wilkie (Eastenders) will play Miss Casewell.

The tour is the first time since 1952 that The Mousetrap, which holds a world record for being the longest-running show in history, has been seen in the UK outside of London.

The archetypal whodunnit has also been licensed for performance in 60 different locations worldwide, including Korea, Venezeula, Russia and Australia.

Other 60th anniversary celebrations have included outreach programmes encouraging year 6 pupils to write mystery stories of their own, and also providing thousands of children with a chance to see The Mousetrap performed.

The show continues playing at the St Martin's theatre, and The Mousetrap is at the Lowry from 17 - 22 March.
