La Clique star Chocolat comes to Chocolate Factory, 13 Aug

Date: 3 July 2012

Le Gateau Chocolat, flamboyant star of Olivier-winner La Clique, will return to London with his solo show this August.

Promising to “leave you addicted to chocolate”, the cabaret variety piece runs at The Menier Chocolate Factory from 13 to 26 August 2012.

The cross-dressing operatic performer, famous for squeezing into too-small lycra, will perform an array of songs from Radiohead to Bassey, linked together by his own personal narrative. Supported by live strings and piano, the show boasts a host of costume changes, glitz and stagey paraphernalia familiar from the previous cabaret variety show.

Le Gateau is a London-born Nigerian, and has sung at the Royal Opera House and got his break in a TV opera talent show. His solo show premiered at last year's Edinburgh Fringe.
