Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom embarks on UK tour in October

Date: 19 June 2012

Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, adapted from the popular children's TV animation, is coming to the stage for the first time for an extensive UK tour later this year. The production comes from the same team behind Peppa Pig and will premiere at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford on 26 October.

The TV show, which airs on Nick Jr and 5’s Milkshake, won a BAFTA award for Best Pre-School Animations in 2009 and a British Animation Award for Best Pre-School Series in 2012. The musical version will see Ben and Holly helping Gaston the Ladybird clean up his messy cave, going on a trip to The Big World with tooth-fairy Nanny Plum, and also planning a surprise birthday party for King Elf with a surprising jelly flood.

Richard Lewis has adapted Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom from the TV animation for the stage and also directs the production. Lewis, along with Mani Svavarsson the composer, worked on the two highly popular Peppa Pig theatre tours. The cast and rest of the creatives have yet to be announced.

Early tour details have been announced and include the New Wimbledon Theatre, the York Barbican and The Grove, Dunstable. For further information visit the show website at www.benandhollylive.com.
