Kara & Artem

Strictly Band, Tointon, Windsor & Rhiannoff Dance in Manchester & Liverpool

Date: 6 April 2012

Former Strictly Champion Kara Tointon, and professional dancers Artem Chigvintsev, Kristina Rhiannoff and Robin Windsor are joining the Strictly band on a new 23-date live show

Whether the sun shines or not this June and July, Strictly Come Dancing fans will be treated to an entertainment heat wave when Dance To The Music, a new live show, will blend the talents of the Strictly band and its vocalists with a showcase of the most spectacular dance routines performed by Kara Tointon and three of Strictly’s professional dancers.

The tour will mark the first time that the entire fifteen-piece Strictly Come Dancing band, led by musical director Dave Arch, have performed together live away from the Strictly studio. Dance To The Music will also reunite Kara and Artem once more on the dance floor as they perform some of their favourite dances from Strictly as well as brand new routines in an intimate theatre setting – allowing audiences to get closer to the action than ever before.

Dance To The Music will bring the Strictly band and singers into the spotlight for their own unique performances as well as giving the couples another chance to dance to a selection of show-stopping classic and modern tunes. The audience will be taken on a lively journey through dances ranging from an American Smooth to a Viennese Waltz – with some surprises along the way.

The tour will visit 23 cities and towns including Ipswich, York, London, Aberdeen, Plymouth, Swindon and Bournemouth.

Dance To The Music plays at the Manchester Opera House on 16 June, Blackpool Opera House on 23 June and Liverpool Philharmonic on 25 June.
