Finborough Stages Rediscovered 2012 Spring Season
Date: 5 January 2012

Earls Court's Finborough Theatre has announced its 2012 spring line-up with a season of "rediscovered" drama and music theatre works dating from the 1890s to 1980s.

The season will launch on 2 February 2012 (previews from 31 January) with Sutton Vane's 1923 play Outward Bound which is revived for the London stage by director Louise Hill for the first time in over 50 years. Hill's recent credits at the theatre include the 2010 productions of JM Barrie’s What Every Woman Knows and Quality Street. The show runs until 25 February 2012.

Ödön von Horváth's Don Juan Comes Back From The War then runs from 1 March (previews from 28 February) to 24 March, in a new version by Lungs playwright Duncan Macmillan. The production is helmed by the third winner of the Leverhulme Bursary for Emerging Theatre Directors Andrea Ferran.

The final main production of the season will be the first British professional staging of Arthur Miller's The American Clock in 25 years. Phil Willmott directs Miller's study of the Great Depression, which runs from 29 March (previews from 27 March) to 21 April 2012.

In addition to the three main productions the Finborough will stage three shows with performances on Sunday and Monday nights.

Ivor Novello final musical Gay’s the Word is revived for the first time, playing Sunday and Monday nights from 6 to 20 February (previews from 5 February). It is directed by Stewart Nicholls.

Veronica Quilligan will then direct the first London production of TC Murray's Autumn Fire. The production plays Sunday and Monday nights from 5 to 19 March (previews from 4 March).

Finally in the Sunday and Monday night line-up, Martin Milnes will stage Gilbert and Sullivan's final operetta The Grand Duke, the first fully-staged professional UK outing for the piece since 1986. The production runs from 9 to 19 April (previews from 1 April).
