Love Story Completes Run at Duchess on 26 Feb

Date: 1 February 2011

Love Story, the musical adaptation of Erich Segal's best-selling novel which transferred to the Duchess Theatre from the Minerva Theatre at Chichester, has announced it will complete its run at the end of its current booking period on 26 February 2011.

Producers of the show, which opened on 6 December 2010 (previews from 27 November) starring Emma Williams and Michael Xavier, say they are looking forward to announcing a UK tour as well as a number of further productions of the show "to be staged worldwide".

Love Story has music by Howard Goodall (The Hired Man, Days of Hope, Two Cities), a book by Stephen Clark (The Far Pavilions) and lyrics by Goodall and Clark. It is directed by Birmingham Rep artistic director Rachel Kavanaugh and had an acclaimed run at Chichester Festival Theatre last year.

Amongst the cast Williams, Xavier and Peter Polycarpou reprised their Chichester roles, joined by Richard Cordery, Jan Hartley, Gary Milner, Paul Kemble and Julie Stark. The show is presented in the West End by Adam Spiegel, Stephen Waley-Cohen and Michael Ball who makes his producing debut.

The musical is designed by Peter McKintosh, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound designer Matt McKenzie, musical direction by Stephen Ridley and musical staging is by Lizzi Gee.

Emma Williams and Michael Xavier will be performing as part of the 2011 Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert giving theatregoers one of the last chances to see the pair together on the West End stage. To book your tickets for the Awards Concert click here.
