Opening: Morning, Tribes, La Soirée, Primadoona

Amongst the major London openings, in the West End and further afield, this week are:

OPENING TUESDAY, 19 October 2010 (previews from 12 October), Jon Lee and Julie Atherton star in the Landor Theatre's revival of Laurence Mark Wythe’s 2006 British musical Tomorrow Morning, centring on a couple at the beginning and end of their marriage. Directed by Landor artistic director Robert McWhir, it continues until 13 November. 

ALSO ON TUESDAY, Abi Titmuss leads the cast of Paradise Lost, a new play by Vicki McKellar, which premieres at the Leicester Square Theatre Basement with a week-long run.

ALSO ON TUESDAY, Sharon Raizada's dark love story Black-i, set in the heart of London, premieres at the Oval House theatre in Kennington, where it continues to 6 November.

OPENING WEDNESDAY, 20 October 2010 (previews from 14 October), Nina Raine’s new play Tribes, directed by Roger Michell, premieres at the Royal Court Downstairs. Starring Jacob Casselden, Kika Markham, Stanley Townsend, Michelle Terry, Harry Treadaway and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it continues until 13 November.

OPENING THURSDAY, 21 October 2010 (previews from 12 October), La Soirée, an evening of cabaret featuring stars from La Clique, opens at the specially erected Magic Mirrors big top on the South Bank behind the National Theatre for a run to 30 January 2011.

ALSO ON THURSDAY (previews from 19 October), Riverside Studios concludes its season showcasing Peter Gill's first two plays with a revival of Over Gardens Out, directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher and continuing until 6 November.

ALSO ON THURSDAY, Doon Mackichan brings her Fringe First-winning solo show Primadoona to the Menier Chocolate Factory. Billed as a "no-holds barred piece of comedy theatre (that) shows the strength of a woman who is not scared to allow people to laugh at her nightmares", it runs until 31 October.

ALSO ON TUESDAY (previews from 19 October), the Actors Ensemble presents Trading Faces, a new comedy charting three couples with three complications, at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre until 6 November.

OPENING FRIDAY, 22 October 2010, Reasons to be Cheerful, Paul Sirett’s new musical inspired by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, opens at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, running until 13 November.

ALSO ON FRIDAY (previews from 19 October), Gabriel Bisset-Smith's The Charming Man, a political satire centring on the Green Party election campaign in 2015, premieres at Theatre503, directed by Paul Robinson and continuing until 13 November.
