Final Tickets for Les Mis at The O2, Tube Strikes
Date: 1 October 2010

Final preparations are underway for Les Miserable's 25th anniversary celebrations, with the final 1,000 tickets released for Sunday night's concert performance at The O2 arena today (1 October 2010). Producers have also made 200 £10 tickets available for seats with views restricted by cameras which, as Whatsonstage.com reported earlier this week, will be used to broadcast the show to 160 cinemas in the UK, and ultimately over 1,100 screens around the world.

The cast of more than 500 artists and musicians will be led by Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Nick Jonas as Marius, Norm Lewis as Javert, Matt Lucas as Thenardier, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thenardier, Katie Hall as Cosette, Ramin Karimloo as Enjolras and Samantha Barks as Eponine, and will also comprise casts of the West End production, the 25th anniversary production currently playing at the Barbican and members of the original 1985 London company.

The concert, staged by the creative team behind the 25th anniversary production, plays two performances on Sunday, with a 1.30pm matinee and 7pm evening performance. The production's website continues to advertise 'Total Mizery' tickets allowing particularly dedicated theatregoers to see all three productions Les Miserables playing in London this weekend.

One potential spanner has been thrown in the works, however, by members of the RMT and TSSA unions who have called a 24-hour strike on the Tube from early Sunday evening. As well as causing commuting chaos on Monday morning, there may be knock-on effects for theatregoers at The O2 concert. Producer Cameron Mackintosh has been assured that management at The O2 are working very closely with Transport for London (TfL) and that all efforts are being made to minimise disruption with as many Jubilee Line trains being run as can safely be achieved.

All theatregoers with tickets for The O2 performance have been sent travel information advising them to travel to the venue by pre-booking seats on The O2's high-speed river service from Waterloo and London Bridge or on the regular Thames Clipper services.

On a related note, one very dedicated theatregoer got in touch with Whatsonstage.com earlier today to share caricatures of three of the leading cast members of Sunday's show. Click here to view Christine Jimenez's caricatures of Alfie Boe, Lea Salonga and Nick Jonas.
