Rambert return to Lowry with AwakeningsDate: 13 August 2010 Britain’s national contemporary dance company returns to its partner venue with a brand new programme of imaginative, ambitious and high quality dance.
This autumn, Rambert will première its exciting new work Awakenings. The show is a collaboration between theatrical choreographer Aletta Collins and celebrated American composer Tobias Picker, this is the first dance interpretation of Oliver Sacks’ book of the same name, made famous by the 1990 Hollywood film starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
Christopher Bruce’s award-winning and uplifting Hush and Merce Cunningham’s RainForest complete the bill.
With 22 of the world’s finest dancers and incredible live music from the Rambert Orchestra, the company continues to be at the very heart of British dance.
Awakenings is at the Lowry from 22 - 24 September.
