NW auditions for Guys and Dolls announced

Date: 19 January 2010

The Company Music Theatre is holding auditions for people aged between 13 and 23 years old in Liverpool and Manchester this weekend.

Those successful at the auditions will then be selected for parts in the Company Music Theatre’s production of Guys and Dolls, which is appearing at the Lowry in Salford Quays in the summer.

Following productions of The Rose and the Ring in 2008 and Merrily We Roll Along in 2009, both performed at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester, Guys and Dolls will be the first production the Company Music Theatre has put on at the Lowry.

Northwest auditions for Guys and Dolls will take place at the following locations:

Liverpool - Saturday 23 January, 1pm-5pm

Location: Black-E, 1 Great George Street, Liverpool L1 5EW (near Anglican Cathedral)

Manchester - Sunday 24 January, 11am-3pm

Location: Chethams School of Music - Long Millgate, Deansgate, Manchester, M3 1SB (near Victoria Station)

A casting residential will take place 1-4 June, while summer residential dates are 17-28 August 2010.

Guys and Dolls will appear at the Lowry on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 August this year.

Attendees must be able to commit to the residential and performance dates. Many past and present members of the Company Music Theatre have gone on to achieve considerable success in television and theatre such as appearances in BBC productions Beautiful People and Waterloo Road, as well as E4’s Skins and the Wizard of Oz at the Lowry.

For full details, an audition form can be requested by emailing lee@thecompanymusictheatre.org.uk
