Whistle stops at Manchester, following Liverpool

Date: 1 February 2010

Jonathan Ansell, who rose to fame as a member of chart-topping X Factor finalists G4, will lead the cast in Bill Kenwright's new tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind, which kicked off on 20 January 2010 at the Liverpool Empire.

Whistle Down the Wind, written by Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman, opened at the West End’s Aldwych Theatre on 1 July 1998, before closing two-and-a-half years later on 6 January 2001. Based on the 1961 film about three children who discover a stranger in their barn who they believe is Jesus, the score includes the hit single "No Matter What".

Following Liverpool, the tour subsequently visits Sheffield, Aberdeen, Bristol, Nottingham, Southampton, Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds, Plymouth, Milton Keynes and Newcastle.

Whistle Down The Wind runs at the Palace Theatre, Manchester from 22 March until 3 April.
