Arturo Brachetti Makes Quick Change at Garrick

Date: 27 August 2009

Italian cabaret legend and quick-change artist Arturo Brachetti, best known internationally for his award-winning signature piece A Man with a Thousand Faces, will bring his new one-man show to the West End this autumn. Arturo Brachetti - Change, which is written and directed by The Right Size’s Sean Foley, runs at the Garrick Theatre for a limited season from 26 October 2009 (previews from 19 October) to 3 January 2010.

In a display of virtuosic skill, Arturo Brachetti brings over 100 characters to the stage, from James Bond to the Queen via Johnny Rotten, in a series of astonishing quick change impressions. The show also contains magic, illusions, comedy and anecdotes from Brachetti’s illustrious career.

Brachetti’s A Man with a Thousand Faces, created in 1999, has been seen by over 1,250,000 people around the world and has won the Molière Award in Paris and Quebec’s Olivier Award.

As one half of comedy double act The Right Size, Sean Foley’s co-wrote and performed shows such as Ducktastic, Do You Come Here Often?, Bewilderness and, most famously, The Play What I Wrote. Since The Right Size, Foley’s directing credits have included Pinter’s People and Joan Rivers: A Work in Progress by a Life in Progress.

Ahead of Arturo Brachetti - Change, the Garrick next month hosts the West End return season of South African musical The Mysteries (Yiimimangaliso), a radical reinvention of the Chester Mystery Plays, which runs for 25 performances only from 11 September to 3 October 2009 (See News, 12 Jun 2009).
