  • First Night Report - Ivanov - Whatsonstage.com was given exclusive access to the opening night of Ivanov, the inaugural production in the glittering Donmar West End residency at Wyndham’s Theatre. Kenneth Branagh, Michael Grandage, Judi Dench, Tom Stoppard and others were all on hand to tell us more about the show, and what we can expect from the forthcoming season.

  • The Brothers Size in Rehearsal - Tarell Alvin McCraney’s acclaimed play returns to the Young Vic this month after its hugely successful debut at the same venue last year. This short feature includes rehearsal footage and an interview with McCraney as well as director Bijan Sheibani.

  • How to Flood the Young Vic - Chris Clay, the Young Vic's head of production, shows how the main house is being transformed into "London's biggest paddling pool" for the forthcoming production of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s In the Red and Brown Water, the companion play to The Brothers Size. Don't try this at home!

  • Ida Barr’s Christmas Message - It may be a bit premature, but this address from the nation’s leading “Replacement Hip-Hop” DJ to plug her show at the Barbican this Christmas is bound to whet your appetite for what promises to be one of the most “alternative” festive theatrical offerings.

  • Enda Walsh on The Walworth Farce - Irish playwright Enda Walsh’s new play opened at the NT Cottesloe last week following its award-winning success at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe (See Review Round-Up, 29 Sep). Here he discusses the inspiration behind the play, and reveals his intention in writing it was to “make each part impossible for an actor” – in a good way.

  • Show Trailer – Six Characters in Search of an Author - Rupert Goold’s 21st-century update of Pirandello’s self-reflexive 1921 masterpiece is currently enjoying a run in the West End, following its premiere this summer at Chichester Festival Theatre (See News, 4 Aug 2008). This short trailer gives a taster of the piece, with a compilation of animated production images and obligatory press quotes. Ian McDiarmid stars.
