The Whatsonstage.com Television channel is a rapidly expanding archive of theatre-related video content. As well as our exclusive first night reports, we regularly add show trailers, event promos, interviews, video diaries, behind-the-scenes footage and some hysterical “best of the web” gems, all handpicked by us.

Here’s a selection of some of our favourite recent additions:

  • Frost/Nixon Movie Trailer - The official trailer for the film adaptation of critically acclaimed 2006 Donmar Warehouse production Frost/Nixon, starring original cast members Michael Sheen and Frank Langella. Due to premiere at next month’s London film festival, it’s directed by Ron Howard and is tipped to be a contender at next year’s Oscars.>>>Click here to view!

  • Brief Clips From Brief Encounter - Anyone who’s seen Kneehigh’s critically acclaimed production of Brief Encounter at the Haymarket Cinema will be familiar with these hilarious spoof commercials, advertising everything from lard to toupees!   • Show Trailer – Rain Man - One of the major openings this week is the stage adaptation of 1988 Oscar winning film Rain Man, starring Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett and veteran British stage actor Adam Godley.   • Interview with Vicky Featherstone - National Theatre of Scotland artistic director Vicky Featherstone discusses her production of David Harrower’s 365, which premiered at last month’s EIF and recently transferred to the Lyric Hammersmith. >>>Click here to view!

  • Show Trailer – Eurobeat - The undoubted feel-good hit of the autumn is interactive Eurovision-spoof musical Eurobeat, currently showing at the Novello theatre. It’s the loudest show in town, with clackers, horns and flags a must for any eager audience member.
