Kidz Presents Bard's Tempest & Macbeth in London
Date: 28 February 2005
Shakespeare 4 Kidz - the touring troupe that bills itself as the National Shakespeare Company for children and young people - will bring its particular brand of educational Bard to London this Easter. Its two current productions, The Tempest and Macbeth, will both be performed for limited runs at the New Players Theatre, Charing Cross.
Shakespeare 4 Kidz produces musical theatre adaptations especially for junior and primary aged children. However, these two productions are suitable for all ages and adults. Macbeth plays from 22 March to 2 April 2005 (excluding Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday) and The Tempest from 5 to 9 April 2005.
The musical adaptations of both plays are by Julian Chenery (book and lyrics) and Matt Gimblett (music) with direction from Julian Chenery and musical direction from Paul Reynolds.
