Mayor Opens Fourth Annual London Ticket PromoDate: 10 December 2004
Next month, London mayor Ken Livingstone will launch the fourth annual “Get into London Theatre” ticket promotion, which originated as a result of the capital’s tourist downturn in the aftermath of September 11th.
Funded by the mayor’s London Development Agency, the scheme makes tickets available at prices reduced to as little as £10 to £25. This year more than 60 London stage productions will take part, covering performances from 5 January to 18 March 2005. (Tickets must be booked by 18 February.)
Some of the participating West End shows include long-running musicals such as Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and The Lion King as well as new play productions like Festen, Blithe Spirit, By the Bog of Cats starring Hollywood’s Holly Hunter, and Royal Shakespeare Company productions at the Albery.
A number of restaurant and hotel special offers will also available in conjunction with the scheme. For further information, call 0870 840 2468.
