French Visits Chicago & Gabrielle Returns, 13 Dec

This December Michael French will make his Chicago debut on Monday 13 December as Billy Flynn, he will be accompanied by Josephina Gabrielle who returns to star as Roxie Hart.

French is best known as David Wicks, Bianca’s (Patsy Palmer) philandering father from Eastenders, he has also appeared on television in Holby City and Born and Bred. French’s West End credits include Art and Les Miserables.

This is Josephina Gabrielle’s third stint as Roxie, she previously took the role in May 2000 (see News, 3 February 2000) and returned in March 2001. Most recently Gabrielle played Kathy Seldon in Singin' in the Rain opposite Adam Cooper at Sadler’s Wells and the Leicester Haymarket (see News, 30 March 2004).

Both French and Gabrielle are contracted for a seven week season which finishes on 29 January 2005. John Barrowman and Jennifer Ellison who are currently playing Billy and Roxie finish on the 11 and 4 December 2004 respectively.

Chicago is also currently starring Anna-Jane Casey as Velma Kelly, Paul Baker as Amos Hart and Sharon D Clarke as Mamma Morton.
