ATG West End Shows Match NT's £10 Season Price Tag

At a time when top prices for new West End musicals are rapidly competing with Broadway, with tickets for the Rod Stewart musical Tonight's the Night topping out at £55 (less than $10 shy of the current Broadway standard of $100) and for the transfer of Jerry Springer - the Opera at £50, a new deal has just been announced that will enable regular customers the opportunity to see three acclaimed productions for just £10 each.

The Ambassadors Theatre Group have announced a 'Summer in the City' promotion in which patrons who buy tickets at the same time for the National Theatre production of Vincent in Brixton to the Playhouse, the Shared Experience production of After Mrs Rochester at the Duke of York's and Edward Hall's Propeller Theatre Company production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Comedy Theatre, can get top price tickets for just £10 each - less than the usual cost of one ticket. As part of the promotion, if patrons wish to buy tickets for just one of the three plays, they will be available for £20 each.

The scheme follows the National's current Travelex £10 season in the Olivier Theatre, in which two thirds of the tickets are available for just £10, with the remainder at just £25, for four productions: Nicholas Hytner's production of Henry V, Zoe Wanamaker and Alex Jennings in His Girl Friday, Kenneth Branagh in Edmond, and Tales from the Vienna Woods.
