Henshall, Anderson & Chitty Lead Soho Cabaret

Date: 27 June 2002

West End diva Ruthie Henshall (pictured) will kick off a new late-night cabaret season, in aid of AIDS charity Theatre Cares (formerly known as West End Cares), at London's Soho Theatre. The summer "DIVAS" season, with Monday evening performances at 11.30pm, opens next week (1 July 2002) with Henshall, accompanied by Frances Ruffelle.

Henshall's many musical stage credits include Les Miserables, Oliver!, Cats, Miss Saigon, She Loves Me and Chicago. Nominated four times for a Laurence Olivier Award, Henshall won Best Actress in a Musical honours in 1995 for her portrayal of Amalia Balash in She Loves Me. Her most recent West End starring role was in last year's musical, Peggy Sue Got Married at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

Ruffelle's West End credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Starlight Express, Les Miserables and Children of Eden. She and Henshall will be joined by special celebrity guests.

The DIVAS season continues with Kiss Me Kate's American star Nancy Anderson (on 8 July) followed by the companies of Boy George's musical Taboo (29 July), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (5 August) and Queen's We Will Rock You.

Tickets for all events are £10.
