Mindreader Salem Brings Games to West End, 30 AprDate: 22 January 2002
American mind-reader Marc Salem will bring his astounding conjuring act to the West End this spring. Mind Games will open on 30 April 2002 for an eight-week season at the New Ambassadors Theatre, where it will run concurrently with Eve Ensler's Olivier-nominated The Vagina Monologues.
On 26 February, the latter transfers back to the New Ambassadors - where it started its current West End run in May 2001 - after a four-month secondment to the nearby Arts Theatre.
Mind Games was a hit at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and received its London premiere last October in a three-week season at the Hampstead Theatre. A behavioural psychologist as well as an entertainer, Salem has used his academic training and understanding of non-verbal communication as a consultant for the FBI, the New York police and several US corporations.
The Vagina Monologues is now booking at the New Ambassadors until 8 June 2002, with evening performances at 7.00pm. During the concurrent seasons, Mind Games will follow with late-night performances.
Currently resident at the New Ambassadors Theatre is the Donmar Warehouse production of David Mamet's Boston Marriage, starring Zoe Wanamaker and Anna Chancellor. It finishes its limited season on 16 February 2002.
