Dangerous to Know, the first ever stage adaptation of a novel by international best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford, will open at the Theatre Royal, Windsor on 26 May for two weeks, followed by a UK tour.
Romantic novelist Taylor Bradford has written 14 books, is published in 88 countries in 39 languages and her current sales figures top 60 million. Since A Woman of Substance, most of her books have transferred to the screen, but this is the first time that one is transferred to the stage.
Dangerous to Know retraces the dramatic life and death of an enigmatic millionaire, Sebastian Locke, and the disintegration of his family. A well-known philanthropist, Locke is suddenly found dead in suspicious circumstances. The police are baffled - has he been murdered and couldsuch an upstanding man have enemies? His former wife, journalist Vivienne Trent, sets out to find the truth about his death and, in doing so, also unravels the mystery of the man and his past.
Dangerous to Know stars Rula Lenska and Michael Praed who are joined by Peter Byrne, Charlotte Weston and Dorota Puzio. This novel is adapted for the stage by Hugh Janes and directed by Roger Redfarn.
