US Dance Diva Tayce gets All Cloned Up, 17 JanDate: 5 January 2001US dance diva Tayce, who scored a dance chart hit with ‘In My Dreams , is to lead the cast of a new musical, All Cloned Up, opening at the fringe King's Head Theatre in London on Jan 17 (preview Jan 16), for a run to Feb 4. With book, lyric and music by Mike Bennett, and additional music by Tayce, Simon Guilfoyle and Mike Moran, the show concerns a future when cloning is the rage and anyone can be brought back to life with customised traits. A demented professor, Eugene Graham, the owner of New World Genetics, is planning to kill his troublesome wife, and then bring her back from the dead... this time with a personality more suited to his needs and desires! But things, needless to say, don't go according to plan. The score, which includes such songs as ‘Stitched Up Like a Kipper , ‘New, Improved Fiona and ‘I Want to Become a Genetic Engineer , is written by Bennett, who has worked with and produced many of the most influential and respected British bands in the last twenty years. During his career, he has written, produced and played for The fall, and worked with The Specials, Wishbone Ash, Bannanarama and Bob Marley. He has also written for such tv shows as ‘The Muppet Show . The director is Alkis Kritikos, who assisted Jim Sharman on the original stage production of The Rocky Horror Show. Related Content |
