Musicals Ahoy on West End in 1998

Several new musicals are scheduled to make their West End debuts next year. Andrew Lloyd Webber, in collaboration with Jim Steinman, has substantially reworked Whistle Down the Wind since its tryout in Washington earlier this year. The new show will see its world premiere, under the directorship of Gale Edwards, at the Aldwych Theatre in June.... Broadway transfer Annie will arrive next autumn having just completed 238 performances at New York's Martin Beck theatre.... E&B Productions, producer of current West End hits Buddy and Fame, will also be bringing The Three Musketeers and the £2.5m Paris before the end of the year.... Philip Schofield and Steven Pimlott are teaming up again after the successful Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for a musical adaptation of Dr Dolittle which will open at Labatt's Apollo in July.
