Hampstead Theatre have lined up another likely success!
Date: 23 December 1998

To follow their current smash hit West End bound production of Little Malcolm and his struggle against the Eunuchs with Ewan McGregor, Hampstead Theatre have lined up another likely success: Liz Lochhead's romantic comedy Perfect Days, a smash at this year's Edinburgh Festival where it sold out at the Traverse Theatre, runs from January 6 to 30.

The play, which concerns the efforts of Barbs -- a successful hairdresser, TV celebrity and co-owner of Glasgow's trendiest salon -- to fulfill her last ambition to have a child at the age of 39, stars Siobhan Redmond as Barbs. Redmond's recent stage credits include playing Beatrice in the RSC's most recent Much Ado About Nothing, as well as appearances at the Manchester Royal Exchange (where she starred in An Experienced Woman Gives Advice and Glasgow's Tron Theatre (in The Trick is to Keep Breathing, subsequently seen at the Royal Court and in Toronto). The cast also includes Enzo Cilenti, Vincent Friell, John Kazek, Anne Kidd and Ann Scott-Jones. Lochhead, whose other stage plays include Blood and Ice, Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head chopped Off, Quelques Fleurs, The Big Picture, Cuba and Britannia Rules, is currently adapting Perfect Days for Film on Four, the cinema division of British television station Channel 4.
