Globe Education Announces Programme Date: 17 October 1997
In honour of the opening of the Globe Theatre this year, Globe Education has chosen The Globe as the theme for its autumn series of staged readings, workshops, lectures and evening classes. Five rare pieces from the Globe repertoire have been chosen from John Wolfson s collection of early quartos to be brought to life by leading directors and actors who are volunteering their time. Richard Olivier, director of the Globe Theatre's Henry V, will co-ordinate the cast (to include Mark Rylance) and will also run a two-day acting workshop and a one-day sonnet workshop. The inaugural Sohmer-Hall Prize Lecture will be given by Professor Andrew Curr and the 1997 Shakespeare Globe Lecture will be given by Bruce Smith.
