Traveling Opera Goes into Liquidation
Date: 18 August 1998
Traveling Opera, founded by Peter Knapp in 1986, is going into voluntary liquidation with an accumulated deficit of £150,000.
In its 12 years of operation, Traveling Opera gave more than 1,200 performances in the UK and as far afield as Barbados. Throughout its lifetime the company was plagued by funding and sponsorship instability. The £150,000 is owed mainly to singers, musicians and suppliers.
