Scottish Ballet Directors Resign Date: 2 September 1997
The entire board of the Scottish Ballet, including chairperson Oona Ivory, agreed to stand down yesterday following a funding ultimatum issued last week by the Scottish Arts Council. The SAC demanded the resignation of the ten directors in exchange for the continuance of the Ballet's annual grant. Without this, the company would probably have been forced to close. A new board is expected to be appointed by the end of the week.
