The All-Male Trocks Are Back!

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, the 14-strong all-male dance company also known as the 'Trocks', returns to the UK this week for a short national tour that takes them to Northampton, High Wycombe, Edinburgh, Inverness, Aberdeen, Cardiff and Warwick. It has also been confirmed that the company will return to London's Peacock Theatre for a three-week season from 8 September 1999.
The classically trained male dancers, who pirouette as good as your average prima ballerina, are well known internationally for their parodies of ballet classics, such The Dying Swan, Paquita and Swan Lake, which they brought to sell-out audiences in London two years ago. The company was recently featured on television's South Bank Show in a documentary tracing the Trocks' 25-year history.
The current tour features excerpts from Swan Lake, Act II, Raymonda's Wedding and a mystery pas de deux. The Peacock engagement in the autumn will include a special programme including several European premieres of new creations by Merce Cunningham.
