Poliakoff s Latest Premieres at National

Date: 10 August 1999

Playwright Stephen Poliakoff and director Ron Daniels are teaming up once again. Poliakoff's latest, Remember This, directed by Daniels, will receive its world premiere at the National's Lyttelton Theatre on 14 October (previews from 8 October).

Rick, a middle-aged man at a crossroads in his life, stumbles across a disturbing technological mystery which he realises has alarming and unquantifiable consequences. While events gather pace around him, Rick sees history disappearing before his eyes and the race is on to exploit his discovery worldwide.

Poliakoff and Daniels have collaborated previously on the National Theatre production of Blinded by the Sun, which won a Critics Circle Award in 1996, as well as Breaking the Silence and Playing with Trains, both with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Poliakoff's other recent work includes Talk of the City (RSC and Young Vic) and the BBC television series Shooting the Past. His films include Hidden City, Close My Eyes, Century, Caught on a Train and The Tribe. Daniels is an honorary associate director of the RSC. His recent productions include Richard II, Richard III and Macbeth.

Remember This is designed by Anthony Ward, with lighting by Matthew Richardson. Casting details have not yet been confirmed.
