Young Playwright Competition Open for ApplicationsDate: 25 November 1997The Unicorn Theatre is running the eleventh National Young Playwright Competition, an event which is designed to encourage and nurture the playwrights of the future. The theme for this year's competition is Secrets and it is open to all children between the ages of 6-16. Each year there are hundreds of entries which are read by a panel of celebrity judges which, in the past, has included Adrian Mitchell, Tom Stoppard and Alan Ayckbourn. Winners will see their plays receive a rehearsed reading by a company of professional actors and will be invited to a professional writers' workshop.
