Patrick Deuchar, chief executive of the Royal Albert Hall announced his resignation this week to 'pursue other interests'. Deuchar joined the hall in 1989 and, since then, has turned an annual loss into consistent profits of more than £2m a year. His resignation will take effect in July 1998. Deuchar has already been mooted as a candidate for positions at the Royal Opera House and the Barbican Arts Centre.
