Birmingham Orchestra Moves into New Home
Date: 14 August 1998
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra moved into the newly opened CBSO Centre this week. Just a stone's throw from Symphony Hall, the CBSO Centre will also provide a home for the Chorus, Junior Chorus and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.
CBSO Project Manager, Richard York said, 'We are delighted to see the Centre coming to completion and we all look forward to being among the best equipped orchestras in the world.'
At its heart will be the top quality rehearsal hall which boasts accoustics specially designed to complement those of Symphony Hall. The hall will also provide a venue for small scale concerts.
More information and new CBSO contact details are on the Orchestra's web site.
