Cast announced joining Lily Savage in Aladdin

Date: 16 August 2010

Joining Paul O'Grady who has generously granted Ms Lily Savage a final, rare and unique stage appearance in this new spectacular version of ALADDIN – A Wish Come True will be Jon Lee as Aladdin, Darren Bennett as Abanazar and Marissa Dunlop as Princess Jasmine, along with local radio journalist Shireen Jordan from Wave105FMs breakfast show as Slave of the Ring.

Lily plays one of the greatest dames in pantomime and creates a new and updated version of the story of Widow Twankey and her son Aladdin (Jon Lee) – who inherit a laundry in old Peking which quickly leads to a tale of adventure, mishap, love, comedy and magic carpet rides.

Jon Lee rose to fame with the pop sensation S Club 7. In the 5 years they dominated the pop world, Jon enjoyed number 1 records all over the world. Following numerous TV and film appearances, Jon played the leading role of Marius in the West End production of Les Misérables.

Darren Bennett is coming to the end of a 14 month tour of the UK and Ireland playing Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. His other credits include Crazy For You, Singing in the Rain, Cats and Hot Shoe Shuffle.

Marissa Dunlop melted the hearts of Southampton audiences last Christmas with her beautiful voice playing Chilli Fridge in Santa Claus and the Return of Jack Frost. She has performed many times in the West End, and played Truly Scrumptious in the first tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

From the Producers of acclaimed musicals White Christmas, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Wizard of Oz comes one amazing, fun filled family show for the festive season. With incredible new sets, costumes and scenic wizardry plus a full orchestra - this is the show of the year - and one not to be missed! ALADDIN – A Wish Come True at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton 10 December 2010 – 8 January 2011.
