Underbelly Launches Biggest Venue

Underbelly launched their 2010 fringe programme yesterday (Wednesday 4 August) with a slick presentatiion in one of their main venues, The E4 Udderbelly. This year, their 11th , Underbelly are presenting over 100 shows in 15 venue including an ambitious programme in the largest space on the Fringe, The McEwan Hall.  As their first show, Five Guys Named Moe, got underway in the 1000 seater venue, comedian Rob Rouse introduced excerpts from a range of Underbelly shows  to a capacity audience of journalists and photographers in the hard to miss purple upside down cow in Bristo Square

Ugly Betty star Michael Urie, who is appeariing in Celebrity Autobiography read from David Cassidy's masterwork, Britain's Got Talent stars Flawless danced up a storm while outside Brazil! Brazil! mixed samba, martial arts and dance. Also appearing at the launch event were Glasgow comedy performer Susan Calman, precussionists Be-dom,The Magnets and The Ukulele Project.

The McEwan Hall will also host 11 nights of the popular Silent Disco.Other shows in Underbelly venues this year include Danny Bhoy, Henry Rollins,Jimeoin, the musical, Obama Mia and plays The Tailor of Inverness, Bunny and Waiting for Apollo.
