Ballet Central Announces 25th Anniversary Tour

Ballet Central, the student troupe of London’s Central School of Ballet, has announced its 25th anniversary tour covering 25 venues across the UK.

The landmark tour (10 March-17 July) includes six nights at four London venues including The Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre at RADA, Stratford Circus, the Linbury Studio Theatre, and the Unicorn Theatre.
 
William Glassman, artistic director of Ballet Central, says: "The tour is a chance for audiences to see new dance talent, as well as inspire young people who may be thinking about professional dance as a career. It also offers us a chance for us to celebrate our 25th year.".

This year’s programme features David Nixon’s Song to St Andrew and Christopher Bruce’s Shift, both of which were originally created for Ballet Central. It also includes excerpts from Peter Wright’s production of Giselle and Michael Pink’s Dracula. Kit Holder, Louise Bennett and past graduate Christopher Marney are creating new pieces for the tour, and the School’s Director new Sara Matthews will be reviving Dances from a Knot Garden. Michael Pink’s dramatic narrative piece I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire and Phillip Aiden’s Let Yourself Go complete the programme.
