Daddy Cool UK tour with Jane McDonald, Sheila Ferguson cancelledDate: 6 September 2012 Boney M musical Daddy Cool, which was due to tour the UK this year, has been cancelled. The production was due to open at the Northampton's Derngate Theatre on 9 October 2012 and visit a host of UK venues through to early December. Loose Women presented Jane McDonald and Sheila Ferguson, a former member of 70s soul group The Three Degrees, were set to star in the production, which features hits from Boney M as well as hits from other groups which had been produced by Boney M originator Frank Farian. McDonald confirmed the cancellation via Twitter and her Facebook page, writing "I've just received a call to say that the Daddy Cool UK Tour has now been officially cancelled. I'm really disappointed it will not be going ahead and sorry to so many of you that had been looking forward to seeing me at the shows." Meanwhile, Ferguson also took to Facebook, saying "Dear Friend'ssic, I just received a call from my agent to say that the Daddy Cool tour of the United Kindgom has now been officially cancelled. I am sure that anyone who has already bought tickets will be reimbursed in a matter of due course." The news comes as another production of Daddy Cool in Mallorca was cancelled early due to low audience numbers. A previous UK tour was also axed 2007, which followed the show posting early closing noticed for its West End run at the Shaftesbury Theatre. - by Kieran Corcoran Related ContentBack to Central Homepage

| Comment | Date | | Yesterday I went to the Sunderland Empire to book a ticket and was told this show has been cancelled. I am very disappointed. I love the music, its part of my teenage years and still appears on my ipod!
I can but hope it tours again in the future. - Sharon | 06 Nov 12 |

| | If there are so many Boney M fans out there, why aren't they buying tickets?
Sounds to me like another piece of unimaginative, exploitative crud has bitten the dust. Good riddance! - Alex Parsons | 15 Sep 12 |

| | How dare you insult the fans of these artists, who in the world there are millions of fans? Yes, the world is not limited to the British Isles. You understand this is difficult, but in many other countries, they are still superstars. - Polly | 07 Sep 12 |
| | Not shocked it's all fallen thru. Amazed that anyone would want to see this rehashed rubbish in the first place, let alone with the has been Sheila Ferguson and Jane MacDonald! - Chippie | 06 Sep 12 |
| | Whoever thought this was a good idea? If you drew a Venn diagram of Boney M and Jane McDonald fans, not only would both sets be small, but they would barely intersect. - Young Offender | 06 Sep 12 |
